LLPOA Muskrat Nuisance Control Program

Lake Lansing property owners report damage to their boats over the last couple of years due to muskrats. In one case, the damage was $2,000. Other lake residents have experienced damage to their lawn by muskrats burrowing dens close to the lake. In response to this nuisance, the Lake Lansing Property Owner's Association (LLPOA) has established a Muskrat Nuisance Control Program.

Program Overview

Assistance is now available to Lake Lansing Residents who are experiencing muskrat damage to property or equipment. The Lake Lansing Property Owner's Association has purchased equipment and LLPOA member Max Miller has completed the necessary training and licensure for controlling/removing nuisance muskrats that are causing problems for lake residents.

Requirements

To participate in the program there are three requirements:
  - Muskrats must have caused damage to property or equipment.
  - Property owners must identify where the muskrats live and the trail to their dens.
  - Property owners must describe the damage caused by the muskrats.

Method of Control

Max Miller and his associate, Marv Johansen, will set traps in the appropriate locations and remove the muskrats.

Cost

This program is available at no cost to LLPOA members. Non members can either join LLPOA (the current dues are $30 per year) or pay a flat fee of $50.

Contact

Contact Max Miller at 388-4870 to get more information about this program or to have muskrats removed.
