MSU Sailing Team Docks Out Fundraiser

Once Again, members of the MSU Sailing Team are helping take Lake Lansing docks out as part of our fall fundraising. We are also available to do other fall-related household tasks such as raking leaves, although our primary goal will be dock removal and getting docks out will take precedence over other requests.

In the past, our Docks-In and Docks Out Fundraiser has proven to be very beneficial to both the team and Lake Lansing residents. Last year, funds raised helped us purchase a new double trailer, allowing us to take two boats to a regatta. This makes it possible for more team members to attend regattas. In the future, we hope to purchase several Club 420 sailboats to use for practice as well as to tow to regattas. Currently we have only Flying Juniors to sail on Lake Lansing, but many collegiate events now use the Club 420s.

This year, we would like to schedule the removal of docks as far in advance as possible, so that we can ensure that everyone’s dock will be removed in a timely fashion. We will be scheduling docks based on a first come, first serve basis. For a team of three or four to remove a dock, a contribution of $150 is suggested. This donation is tax deductible. If more members are required based on the size of the dock, we ask that the donation be adjusted accordingly. For raking leaves or other fall-related household tasks involving two hours of work, we suggest a $150 contribution for a team of three or four.

Please contact MSU Sailing Team Vice Commodore Lindsey Vickers for scheduling, by email at vickersl@msu.edu or by phone at (313) 585-6337. She will be willing to schedule the time of the removal as well as determine the number of team members required for your dock.

Thank you so much for your past, present and future support of our MSU Sailing Team.
