Friday BYOB

You are invited to join your Lake Lansing friends and neighbors at the monthly BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat) event this coming Friday evening, June 16th. Put an appetizer to pass and your own beverages aboard your boat - then join the “Tie-Up”. Just look to see where boats are gathering and get in on the fun.

No Phosphorus Weed ‘n Feed at Haslett Village True Value Hardware

The Haslett Village True Value Hardware has a supply of Scotts Weed ‘n Feed without phosphorus (26-0-3). One bags will cover 15,0000 square feet of lawn and weighs approximately 45 pounds. The retail price is $31.49 per bag. Anyone using fertilizer on their lawn is strongly encouraged to avoid using phosphorus. Phosphorus is the middle number in the three number label. It is critical for the health of our lake to avoid using phosphorus because it eventually gets into the lake and causes unwanted weed growth. If the Hardware store runs out, they will gladly order more.

Haslett Village True Value Hardware also has regular fertilizer (without weed control) containing no phosphorus. In addition, fertilizer without phosphorus can be purchased from Patrick Witte at Lake Lansing Park South.

Free Sailboat Rides Saturday at the Lansing Sailing Club

The Lansing Sailing Club is offering free sailboat rides for Lake Lansing property owners this Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4. “We are proud to be an active member of LLPOA,” said Commodore Mike Moody, “and we want to show our appreciation for the work LLPOA does by offering free sailboat rides to other property owners.” The free rides are also being made available to those who participated in “Be a tourist in your own town” two weeks ago, but had their sail boat ride rained out when a storm passed through part way through the afternoon.

Summer Sailstice

This coming weekend, June 17-18, is a special weekend for sailing. These are the longest weekend days of daylight and are being celebrated as the “Summer Sailstice”.
